S.C.I.E.N.C.E., Incubus' second studio album (in reality this was their first studio album as Fungus Amongus was merely a compilation of various demos recorded over some months by Jim Wirt), was released on September 9, 1997, and Incubus opened for bands like Korn, 311, and Sublime.[1] In February, 1998, Incubus dismissed Koppel and immediately replaced him with Chris Kilmore.
